Lucien Abrams studied at the Art Students League. While in Europe, he studied at the Acadamie Julian and with Whistler in Paris. Prior to returning to America in 1915, he exhibited regularly at the Salon d'Automne, Paris (1902-1914) and at the Salon des Independants (1902-1914).

Abrams resided in Old Lyme, CT from 1915-1941. During these years he exhibited annually at the Lyme A.A. He had one-man exhibitions at the Pabst Galleries in San Antonio and at Durand-Ruel Galleries in New York. His work is in the Dallas MFA, The Lyman Allyn MA, New London, and the Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme.
