| Rutherford Boyd studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and at the Art Students League. He was a member of the American Watercolor Society and the Salmagundi Club. He exhibited at the Art Instutute of Chicago (1926-29, 1931-32), at the Dallas Art Association (won a prize in 1940), and at the Southern States Art League (won a prize in 1941). Boyd was originally an illustrator, then became a painter designer, sculptor, teacher, writer and lecturer. |
